MOSCOW, Mar 20 (PRIME) -- Leonid Mikhelson, a co-owner of gas producer Novatek and petrochemical company Sibur, was ranked Russia’s richest man in 2016 for a second year in a row, magazine Forbes said on Monday.
Mikhelson’s fortune rose by U.S. $4 billion to $18.4 billion.
He was followed by Alexei Mordashov, the majority shareholder and chairman of the board of directors at steelmaker Severstal. His fortune grew by $6.6 billion to $17.5 billion.
Vladimir Lisin, a controlling shareholder of steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel, or NLMK, was ranked third with a fortune of $16.1 billion.
Gennady Timchenko, who holds stakes in Novatek and Sibur, was ranked fourth with a fortune of $16 billion, and Alisher Usmanov, the founder of USM Holdings, which owns Metalloinvest, was ranked fifth with $15.2 billion.
